Nov. 3 Heather Kropf. An outstanding singer-songwriter-pianist from Pittsburgh, who often visits Northeastern, PA, Ms. Kropf recently released album called Lights in 2019. She returned to Homegrown Music for her second appearance and performed some of the songs from that recording, as well as other new material in this encore of an October 2019 session.

Nov. 10 MoR. From the archive comes one of the more distinctive Homegrown Music sessions. The series’ emphasis has been on regional artists, but we occasionally invite some notable performers whose recordings have been featured on WVIA’s Mixed Bag program. MoR are a duo from Iceland who consists of only electric bass and vocals. They do very distinctive and beautiful arrangements of everything from songs by Cyndi Lauper and Duran Duran to Icelandic folk music in this memorable 2007 session.

Nov. 17 A Homegrown Music Concert Encore with ROGUE CHIMP. A distinctive fusion and funk-influenced instrumental group from Northeastern PA, Rogue Chimp features a pair of brothers, Jacob and Zach Cole, along with classically trained violinist Mark Woodyatt and bassist Jon Ventre. They create distinctive original music that runs from jam-band to jazz in its varied influences. This is an encore of the band’s memorable 2014 live Homegrown Music concert.
