Homegrown Music is WVIA-FM's exclusive series which each week showcases the talents of regional contemporary music artists in recordings produced in the WVIA-FM studios by series host George Graham and is broadcast Tuesdays at 9:00 PM and Saturdays at 6 PM on WVIA-HD2. Homegrown Music will be preempted on December 24 for Holiday specials. Dec. 3 Mammoth Indigo. Indie rock band Mammoth Indigo’s music is an eclectic mix marked by great songwriting and solid vocals. Having released their sophomore album Wilt, which was featured on WVIA’s Mixed Bag, the band was on a coast-to-coast tour last year when they stopped in the WVIA studios for their Homegrown Music debut with a mix of songs from their album and new material. Encore from 2018.

Dec. 10 Matt Filer. Jim Thorpe, PA, singer-songwriter returns to Homegrown Music for his third set of new original songs in a solo acoustic setting.

Dec. 17 Shannon Marsyada. A resident of West Hazleton, PA, Ms. Marsyada has been writing songs for most of her life, and has released two albums, most recently Oceans, which has been featured on WVIA’s Mixed Bag. The pianist-singer-songwriter makes her Homegrown Music debut in a group including her husband Michael Marsyada on drums and guitar. The set includes some original Christmas songs.

Dec. 31 The Annual Homegrown Music Year-End Sampler. Series producer George Graham presents a special 90-minute cross-section of some of the diverse Homegrown Music sessions and concerts produced during 2019. Note: Start time: 8:30 PM.
