Homegrown Music is WVIA-FM's exclusive series which each week showcases the talents of regional contemporary music artists in recordings produced in the WVIA-FM studios by series host George Graham and is broadcast Tuesdays at 9:00 PM. A special feature during October is a Live Homegrown Music Concert with the Jogn Ginty Band and the Coal Town Rounders on the 9th. Nov. 9 Live Homegrown Music Concert with John Ginty Band and The Coal Town Rounders. WVIA's monthly series of live two-hour Homegrown Music concert broadcasts continued with blues and bluegrass.
John Ginty is a ubiquitous keyboard man who has served as a studio and touring musician for artists as diverse as Whiskeytown, Lou Reed, and the Dixie Chicks He was a founding member of of Randolph Band and appeared on the PBS TV series Austin City Limits. Ginty recently released his latest album called No Filter. He will performing music from that and other projects with his band.

Northeastern PA is home to several first-rate bluegrass bands, and the Coal Town Rounders are among the best. The quartet group performs both original and traditional music.

As usual, WVIA's members and listeners are invited to be part of the studio audience in the station Sordoni Theater. Free reservations may be made at the WVIA website. Note: Start time: 8:00 PM.

Nov. 10 Jamie Leonhart. A fine jazzy-oriented singer, Ms. Leonhart is part of significant musical family. She performs sophisticated original songs with a group that includes her husband Michael Leonart, the long-time trumpet player with Steely Dan, and who is heard on piano, in this encore of a memoerable 2007 session.

Nov. 17 Poor Man's Gambit. The series debut of fine Celtic trio from the Lehigh Valley, featuring second-generation Homegrown Music artist Corey Purcell.

Nov. 24 The Empty Pockets. This first-rate melodic rock band, including a married couple, returns to Homegrown Music for a new session of their original songs.
