Homegrown Music is WVIA-FM's exclusive series which each week showcases the talents of regional contemporary music artists in recordings produced in the WVIA-FM studios by series host George Graham and is broadcast Tuesdays at 9:00 PM. March 8, 22 and 29 feature a series of memorable performances from the archive, most from bands or artists no longer active in our region. Note: Homegrown Music will be preempted on March 15 because of the broadcast of the 2010 Billtown Blues Festival on WVIA's Mixed Bag. Further information on Homegrown Music may be obtained via the World Wide Web at http://homegrownmusic.info and http://www.wvia.org/radio/homegrown-music

Mar. 1 Anna Dagmar. Pianist, singer and songwriter Anna Dagmar in 2009 released Let the Waves Come in Threes which was featured on the Mixed Bag weekly album review. Mar. 8 Jabberpony. From the Homegrown Music archive comes this 2001 session from a relatively short-lived New Jersey based quartet who created very appealing, atmospheric folk-rock featuring the fine vocals of Sarah Schoendienst. They released one CD and soon went their separate ways, but they left behind this memorable session.

Mar. 22 Eric Hansen. Eric Hansen is a versatile artist. He spent several years in the theater before launching his career as a singer-songwriter. An appealing performer with a rich, warm voice and thoughtful songs, Hansen ended up relocating to Arizona because of a rare lung disease. This segment features highlights from several of his Homegrown Music sessions.

Mar. 29 Red Radio Flyer. A fine roots-rock band that existed in the early 2000s, Red Radio Flyer featured great songwriting and tasteful musicianship. This was their only Homegrown Music session, recorded in late 2000.
