A resident of Carbondale, PA, USA, I am a producer,
Public Radio host
and programmer, music reviewer/journalist, and recording,
broadcast and mastering engineer. I produce and host weekday evening programs on
WVIA-FM, 89.9, Scranton/Wilkes-Barre/Hazleton,
PA, a public radio station of which I was a co-founder in 1973.
The programs I produce include:
-
Mixed Bag, probably the first and certainly
the longest continuously-running "AAA" (album post-childhood alternative) radio
program on the air anywhere, since 1974. (Monday through Friday at 8:00
PM) In May 2004, Mixed Bag celebrated its 30th Anniversary as a continuous daily program.
-
All That Jazz, a daily hour of acoustic mainstream
jazz. (M-F 7:00 PM).
-
Homegrown Music.. A unique weekly series
presenting performances by regional musicians recorded in the WVIA studios,
with monthly live concerts presented before a studio audience. Click
here for a gallery of photos from the Homegrown Music series.
-
The Weekly Album Review. Presented as
part of Mixed Bag Wednesdays at 9:00 PM, the album review features an in-depth
look at a new AAA release.
Now featuring audio versions of the most recent reviews in Real Audio format.
I also have produced a number of albums,
and am available as a free-lance producer/engineer/mixer. Now including MP3 audio samples of selected albums.
